Fitzroy Harris is a performing artist who captures his audience with rhythm and song. Born in England of Jamaican parents, Fitzroy was exposed to the diversity of the arts and popular entertainment at a very young age. As a child in Jamaica, Fitzroy got his big start by performing in Jamaica’s well known Little Theatre. This was where he first exhibited his percussion talent.

Fitzroy then moved to New York from Jamaica where he auditioned and received the performing arts scholarship from Arthur Mitchell at the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City. New York is where his creative journey began and has taken him many places including South America, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.

Fitzroy later created Sugarcane his musical act here in Central Florida. Sugarcane combines the rhythms of reggae, the sounds of steel drums with Billboard’s best. While developing his musical sound and recording his original music, Fitzroy performs at two of central Florida’s most popular dining spots, Bahama Breeze and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville in Universal Studios.

This is where Fitzroy can be heard entrancing his audience with his unique style. When asked what inspires him Fitzroy says, “The smiles from people of all ages and the signs of appreciation I get when I sing my family friendly, feel good music”.
